The Lazy Girl's Guide To Style

Back in college (I say this as if it was more than a few months ago), my friends used to tell me I always looked so put together and they didn't know why. Even on the laziest days, they thought I looked polished and fashionable. First of all, yes I did look put together next to the twenty-year-old college students slumping around in their Emory sweatshirts and matching pajama pants. It really wasn't that hard. But the truth is, I just knew how to fake it. I have some special tricks up my sleeves that can turn any lazy day outfit into a polished look, with minimal effort. (Yes, minimal. Don't worry you lazy bum.)

If your lazy day uniform consists of your college pajama pants and a comfy long-sleeve shirt, then here is the solution for you. Keep that comfy shirt, but switch out those pants for some denim. Throw on a pair of edgy boots, a necklace, and BAM, people think you're chic.

Maybe you're more of a leggings and baggy sweatshirt kinda gal. Well don't fret my dear. Keep those leggings on, but swap the sweatshirt for a tunic, throw on some riding boots, and a hat just for kicks. (Posing with a cocky smile also helps). Voila! Over-sized to Uber-cute.

Or perhaps you're one of those people who likes to pretend you're on your way to workout, when really you just got out of bed and it's three in the afternoon. First, get yourself a pair of shorts with a zipper and a button. Then, since you're obviously not wearing a sports bra because you have no intention of working out, just throw a jean jacket on over your zip-up. And don't forget to work it girl.

Hope these tips were helpful!
Remember, you don't have to forgo your laziness.
You have my permission to fake it every now and then
with these little tricks ; )

  29. love the legging trick. i used it all the time (in fact, that one still works in the 'real world'). another one, i don't even know if I should share this one but, is to put a bra on over the pajama top and throw on a cute fitted sweater and a necklace. it's easy to undo it all and jump back into laze mode at the dorm.

  35. This was really amusing. I wish I could post a pic of what Im wearing right now and see what you can do with it. (Remember the scene in the exorcist where Ragan comes down in a night gown and pees on the carpet? Well, YES, I'm styling that 80s chic flowered night wear. Sometimes I want to keep in comfy, AND I get a kick out of walking into gaby's room in the dark. : D
